The Varandas Residence are two new homes for a young family that wants to be able to live and work as close as possible. In this sense, two similar houses located on the outskirts of Lisbon were designed. The similarity of the exterior aesthetics between the two houses was one of the starting points, where once again it was asked to articulate the combination of different textures and volumes, which would give personality to the project. In this sense, smoothed concrete, dehydrated and treated wooden slats and white paint were chosen, contrasting with the black metallic frames and guards. The balconies with generous areas so that it is possible to enjoy the outside on all floors of the house. The roof, despite containing the technical area, also has the intention of creating a garden hiding the mechanical installations and emphasizing the character of the building. In the outer space, seating areas were created through a pergola that textures the space and invites you to stay in the garden.
